- Defence Standardization Security Department
The NATO and EU Standardization Department is responsible for:
- management and coordination of the processes of accession and implementation of NATO standardization agreements, ensuring revisions of the method of accession to them and approval of NATO standardization recommendations in the Czech Republic,
- creation of a unified concept of the defence standardization system of the Czech Republic and harmonization with the NATO defence standardization system,
- management and coordination of the process of assessment of draft European defence standardization documents during their introduction into the national environment,
- development of a proposal for the harmonization of the standardization process with individual areas of defence planning within the Czech Republic and NATO,
- development of the Defence Standardization Plan following the NATO Defence Planning Process (NDPP), submits it for approval to the Director of the Office and ensures its continuous updating,
- elaboration of the Expert Instruction for defence standardization - assignment of NATO standardization agreements and Czech Defence Standards (CDS) to the administration, according to the conditions set by the Ministry of Defence, submits it for approval to the Director of the Office and ensures its continuous updating,
- expert advice to administrators of standardization groups in the field of defence standardization, coordination of their activities with other state administration bodies in accordance with Government Resolution No. 1194/2000,
- professional management of the terminology standardization process and maintenance of uniform terminology in accordance with NATO terminology and drafting of Czech names and annotations of NATO standardization agreements, NATO standardization recommendations and allied publications,
- commenting on the proposals of the central state administration bodies relating to the area of defence standardization.
It participates in cooperation with Armaments and Acquisitions Section of the MoD and Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic to secure the European defence standardization agenda within the European Defence Agency (EDA)
The Defence Standardization Security Department is responsible for:
- comprehensive security of the process of creation and administration (revision) of the CDS, methodical and professional management of processors, including cooperation with expert bodies of relevant departments in the Czech Republic,
- management of the Register of Defense Standardization, which according to Decree No. 529/2005 Coll. on Administrative Security and on Registers of Classified Information, as amended, is an auxiliary register of the Ministry of Defense and is the receiving point of NATO standardization documents and European defense standardization documents that were sent to the environment of the Czech Republic,
- manipulation of NATO standardization documents, European defense standardization documents and national standardization documents and their provision to users from the Czech Republic,
- financial planning and reporting of funds for the implementation of tasks according to the Defense Standardization Plan and to ensure other processes of defense standardization in the environment of the Czech Republic,
- operation, development and management of the IS STAN standardization information system – a separate information subsystem of the Logistics Information System,
- ensuring notification obligations in the Bulletin of the Office for Technical Standardization, Metrology and State Testing and the Bulletin of the Ministry of the Interior on current changes and the status of standardization documents in the Czech Republic,
- ensuring translations of standardization documents by translators for the benefit of defense standardization, including planning and reporting of funds,
- the activities of the Contact Office for cooperation between the Office and the Office for Technical Standardization, Metrology and State Testing and the distribution of technical standards to ensure the process of defense standardization in the Czech Republic,
- cooperation with the National Security Agency and the Department of Security of the Ministry of Defense and other security elements of the relevant departments in matters of distribution of classified NATO standardization documents, European defense standardization documents, documents of other contracting parties and national standardization documents to applicants from the Czech Republic.
It participates in cooperation with Armaments and Acquisitions Section of the Ministry of Defence in the implementation of EU standards in the national environment and procedures in accordance with EU and EU Council Directive 2015/1535, on the procedure for providing information in the field of technical regulations and regulations for information society services.
